CAN Bus wiring issues? – 05-02-2017,09:40 PM
I have a number of what I would consider to be CAN bus connection/communication issues and wanted to inspect the loom in the areas of junctions/joins.I have a wiring diagram, but am not sure of the routes of the wiring and where the splices might be. I understand that there are some on the drivers side sill area under the carpet and this is a common problem area?
I physically checked accessible connections to the ABS, EEC, central convenience module and the instrument cluster, I would be grateful for any pointers to common failures in these areas. Recent history of the car is one year stored in damp conditions, mildew evident in car, now mostly dried and cleaned, but I suspect moisture ingress to be the main culprit. Plenum chamber had an estimated 1L of water, so probably more at one point and likely to be cause of damp carpets.
